meet the teacher

Background:	Kylie is a very experienced flute, clarinet and recorder teacher. She has gained the DipABRSM and CT ABRSM qualifications with the Associated Board for the Royal Schools of Music. She is also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. Kylie teaches adults as well as primary and infant school children privately and she offers her expertise in helping children perform with others. She also plays solo or with experienced harpists on a regular basis for wedding ceremonies and functions. She also performs with the Lewisham Concert Band and a local ensemble group called Opal Flutes. Kylie also teaches children at schools in small groups and on a one to one basis. Children take part and perform in assemblies in front of parents. She is also fully CRB checked. Kylie can also play flute either solo, with an organist or a harpist on your wedding day. Strengths:	Kylie is a very patient and understanding teacher and she adopts all manner of teaching strategies according to her pupils needs. She is also flexible and adaptable and feels that this benefits her teaching. Written records are kept of all lessons given. This aids lesson planning and is a useful means of checking and maintaining pupil progress. An holistic approach is promoted, utilising material covered in school music lesson curricula, improvisation, composition and rhythmic work. Independent learning at home is encouraged.
